Is a series of contemplative pen drawings that began as a personal, inward practice, an attempt to bring to the page the images that surfaced spontaneously in the mind. Each drawing is made with a black ballpoint pen on white paper. This minimal choice of material allowed for a meditative process: slowly blackening the surface while preserving areas of light that define the image.
This was an exploration of the relationship between darkness and light, how one gives meaning to the other. Darkness here is not a symbol of negativity, but a space of depth, potential, and quiet truth. Light exists within it, not in opposition to it, but in constant dialogue. As someone who also works in the field of psychology, this tension between visibility and concealment mirrors the emotional and existential layers of the self, what is seen, what is hidden, and what is still forming.
Ultimately, Darkness Beneath the Eye is not a project of answers, but of attention. A space for observing how images, emotions, and meaning emerge when we take the time to sit with the dark.
